Beloved New West wrestler raising money for his wife after horrific crash

Rish and Chelsy Koya were both injured

A GoFundMe campaign has been started by a beloved New Westminster wrestler to raise money after a horrific motor vehicle crash injured his wife.

Rish Koya – best known as Mr. India through his numerous wrestling events, including one that involved teaming up with New West Mayor Jonathan Cote – is trying to raise $60,000 after he and his wife Chelsy were injured in a crash on Anarchist Mountain in Osoyoos.
According to the fundraising page, Rish suffered a concussion and has injuries to his neck and right hand, but “Chelsy took the worst of it and her injures are far more serious.”
Chelsy’s injuries include a fractured spine, multiple fractures in the pelvis, a broken dominate left arm and wrist, plus 10 staples to head.
“Jaws of life had be used to extract Chelsy, says the page. “She spent 35 days combined at Kelowna, Penticton, and Oliver hospital … Doctors have said injuries like hers could take several years to recover from … These funds will be going to towards rehab and therapeutic equipment, caregivers, medication costs, therapists, rehab & therapeutic equipment, medical transportation, & travel costs to multiple specialists in Greater Vancouver.”
Chelsy is a health and fitness coach with Koyabell Fitness.
“She will be attacking her recovery the same way she attacks her athletic training – with ruthless aggression.”
