Artists and cultural groups, don't forget to make yourselves known to the city's new cultural mapping project.
The City of New Westminster, the Arts Council of New Westminster and Douglas College are joining forces in a project to "map" the city's cultural assets and present them in an interactive map on the city's website.
The city is reminding artists and cultural groups to help build the map by taking part in the first stage of the process: a survey of the city's cultural assets.
The city's consultants, HJLinnen Associates, are conducting the survey.
Artists and art groups are asked to fill in the survey before Dec. 31 so that the city may begin building the "dynamic, user-friendly and information-packed website showcasing New Westminster's incredible cultural profile," a notice from the city says.
Groups and individuals can take part, and each respondent can control how much information they provide. They can also offer images and links to a group or individual website.
