Artisans, want a chance to display and sell your wares?

The Arts Council of New Westminster is hosting its annual spring market as part of the Hyack Festival.

The market runs Sunday and Monday, May 20 and 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Centennial Lodge in Queen's Park.

Artisans can set up their tables on Saturday, May 19.

Work must be juried in order to be accepted into the show.

Check out www. artscouncilnewwest.org to find more information, including a registration form, floor plan and artisan guidelines.

And, incidentally, the market gives you a chance to have your work seen by a lot of people - according to the arts council, last year's show attracted more than 1,900 visitors over the two days.

Tickets are $9 at the door.

The Massey is at 735 Eighth Ave. See www. masseytheatre.com or www.artscouncilnewwest. org for more about the movie.

A salute to Queen Elizabeth

Queens Avenue United Church is getting ready to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

The church's carillonic bells will toll 60 times on Sunday, June 3 at noon to honour the Queen celebrating her 60 years on the throne.

The Queen's coronation was on June 3, 1953 - and on June 3 this year, Queens Avenue will also hold a special service featuring music played and sung at the Queen's wedding and coronation.

Hymns such as And Did Those Feet in Ancient Times and Land of Hope and Glory will be sung, and the music of Vaughan Williams, Handel, Elgar and Purcell will be played on the church's organ.

Queens Avenue United Church is at 529 Queens Ave.
