It was the darling of this year's Academy Awards - and you can see it on screen at the Massey Theatre.
The Arts Council of New Westminster has just announced this month's offering in the Last Mondays at the Movies series, screening on Monday, June 25 at 7: 30 p.m.
Yes, you guessed it, it's The Artist - the black-andwhite tribute to the Golden Age of film that earned five Oscars this year.
The film is set in the 1920s and follows the story of actor George Valentin (Academy Award winner Jean Dujardin), a matinee idol of silent film who starts to fall in love with a beautiful ingénue named Peppy Miller (Bérénice Bejo).
It's both a love story and a story of the changing film industry itself, as the rise of sound in movies threatens George's career just as Peppy's begins to take off.
The movie also earned Oscars for Best Picture, Costume Design, Directing and Music, plus five other nominations.

ART IN THE LIBRARY
Art lovers, don't forget to stop by the New Westminster Public Library before the end of the month.
Watercolours and photography are on display in two new exhibitions.
In the reference department, visitors can check out There is Poetry in Nature, a show by Julia Schoennagel.
A press release notes that Schoennagel is a representational artist whose work reflects her deep spiritual connection with animals and the serenity of nature.
She first excelled in art at a young age, but after life took her in a different direction, she rediscovered art after retirement - through a painting class. She works in watercolour and acrylic.
On the ramp gallery, visitors can enjoy Len Gustafson's photography.
Gustafson was introduced to photography in his early teens by his father, who was a professional photographer. His interest waned over the years, but he rediscovered his passion for the art in 2009 when he purchased a digital camera.
Both exhibitions are on display until June 30.
The art can be viewed at any time during library hours. Pop in to the library, 716 Sixth Ave., to view it.
NEW WEST ARTISTS HOLD GROUP SHOW
Yet more good news for the art lovers out there - New West Artists are presenting another group show.
The Luxurious and Magnificent Art Lover's Dream Show (love that title!) is on at the Network Hub on the second floor of the River Market.
It features work by Gabrielle Grieg, Lana Hart, Anthony Hollenstein and Janet Kvammen.
An opening reception is set for Thursday, June 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. The show runs to July 20.

Members of the New West Artists group will also be displaying their work at the new offices of the Seniors Services Society at 750 Carnarvon St.
An open house is set for Tuesday, June 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the offices will be open Monday to Friday, 8: 30 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m.
