A new childcare centre with about 64 spaces is opening at the Brewery District on Columbia Street.
Kids & Company, a corporate-sponsored child-care centre, held its official New Westminster opening at the Wesgroup Properties location.
Our newest location is strategically placed to help parents who spend unnecessary commuting time in the morning to get their children to child care, Victoria Sopik, founder and CEO of Kids & Company, said in a media release. Parents can now drop off their children at the child care and continue on their way to work. Additionally, flexible hours will be available to address the needs of shift workers.
The daycare is located near Royal Columbian Hospital, and offers childcare for infants to preschoolers. Its situated on the ground floor of the newly constructed mix-use building that will house the new TransLink and Transit Police headquarters.
The location includes a spacious outdoor playground that exceeds the minimum requirements for play space.
Acting Mayor Lorrie Williams was on hand for the opening ceremony during the centres open house.
