Bosley’s is hoping to spread some love in support of the New Westminster Animal Shelter.

Karima Jivraj, owner of Bosley’s by PetValu in Columbia Square, said the store is having a National Cupcake Day sale to raise money for the animal shelter.

Community members can buy four cupcakes (two chocolate and two vanilla) for $16 from Tasty Entertaining or four scones (four cheese or four strawberry white chocolate) from Leona Green at Greens and Beans Deli for $10, with 100% of the proceeds going to the animal shelter.

“We decided to do the National Cupcake Day event as a way to support the New Westminster Animal Services.  With COVID we haven’t been able to have as many events this past year, and we are hoping to raise at least $600 for them,” Jivraj said. “The money is for them to use to purchase the extras for the pets in their care. By this we mean the chews, toys, puzzle toys, etc.”

Jivraj’s goal is to sell 10 dozen scones and 10 dozen cupcakes.

Anyone wanting to participate in the fundraiser must email their order to [email protected] by Feb. 15 so the items are available for pickup on Monday, Feb. 22 .
