A local entrepreneur is hoping to spread the word about an upcoming delegation that’s heading to Denver, Colorado.

Leah Chang, CEO of eLearning startup Leah Chang Learning Inc., will lead the Canadian delegation at the Association for Talent Development (ATD) International Conference & Expo 2020, in Denver from May 17 to 20. As a self-employed woman in tech, Chang said she understands the importance of making opportunities like international conferences more accessible.

“When I started out as a self-employed professional, the cost of registration and travel were intimidating, but I knew that these events were key to being a successful consultant as they would allow me to explore the latest vendors and technology in my field,” she said in a press release.

Chang, who recently served as a board member of the Arts Council of New Westminster, is a learning consultant with more than 16 years of experience designing online and classroom learning.

“The Canadian delegation will provide a venue for instructional designers, learning and development professionals and organizational development experts across Canada to connect with each other in a global setting,” said a press release from Chang. “Apart from networking opportunities and a discounted rate, international delegates can purchase discounted annual ATD membership, and will receive a rebate based on the size of the delegation.”

Canadians, whether they’re consultants, employees, groups or organizations, can register for the conference and join the Canadian delegation at a discounted rate by entering their Canadian address and the delegation code 202002015. They can also get from a $20US discount on annual professional ATD membership when using code ATDCAD20.

According to Chang, Canadians who have already registered for ATD can still opt into the Canadian delegation by contacting atdglobal@td.org.
