Key West Ford is committed to helping combat childhood hunger in New West.

Key West Ford is holding its annual We Scare Hunger, an annual event launched by WE Charity,an international charity that partners with communities to help lift themselves out of poverty.  The car dealership is aiming to help New West families through the WE Scare Hunger campaign that’s running until Oct. 27.

“Every day the number of Canadians that are relying on local food banks is increasing, and these people are our neighbours, friends, co-workers and children you see every day,” Key West Ford’s Michael Nokes said on the campaign’s Go Fund Me page. “My dealership, Key West Ford, as well as Ford Canada want to do something about it. Ford Canada has created a program called We Scare Hunger which is dedicated to supporting local food banks across Canada, and raising awareness to this ever growing problem.”

Key West Ford invites customers and community members to bring food items such as canned vegetables, whole-grain pasta, canned fruits, and whole-grain cereals into the dealership until Oct. 27. Key West Ford, located at 301 Stewardson Way, is also accepting online donations at Go Fund Me (Key West Ford We Scare Hunger) at www.gofundme.com.

Key West Ford is also matching all employee donations dollar for dollar. As of today (Oct. 26), more than $2,400 had been raised.
