The Way Off-Broadway Wednesdays series is winding up for 2017 with two December shows at the Heritage Grill.
On Dec. 6, the fringe performance series is presenting I Think I’m Dead, a solo show by Montreal performer Al Lafrance that captured Best Solo Show and Audience Choice awards at the Halifax Fringe this past year.
Lafrance leads his audience through the world of insomnia.
“From obsessing over movies to attempting professional wrestling, with some near-death experiences in between, I Think I’m Dead is an intoxicating exploration of sleep deprivation and poor life choices,” a press release notes.
On Dec. 13, audiences can join in the fun with Andrew Wade’s Hullaboo and the End of Everything. The show, performed by Wade and Katie Purych, tells the store of Hullaboo – who has been a lifelong imaginary friend and partner in pranks to young Mikaila.
“But now, the girl who first imagined him might not need him anymore,” the press release says. “Can Mikaila escape her escapades with Hullaboo? And if she does, will Hullaboo escape with his life?”
The shows are at 7:30 p.m., with admission by donation. You can reserve a table at 604-759-0819, or just show up. Heritage Grill is at 447 Columbia St.
The Way Off-Broadway Wednesdays series will then take a Christmas hiatus before returning on Wednesday, Jan. 17 for a new year of weekly shows.
And, in the meantime, don't forget the final November show tonight (Nov. 29), as Jim Sands brings his Blue River Blues to the stage.
