The Way Off-Broadway Wednesdays fun continues at the Heritage Grill.

The fringe performance series, which runs on a pay-what-you-want basis, is continuing on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. at the Heritage Grill, 447 Columbia St.

Tonight (Nov. 1), you can enjoy The Back Room Boom!, which returns with a "spooktacular" Episode 2, featuring ghostly guests, songs and stories from Devon More, scary scifi from J.P. Lorence and gothic poetry from Catherine Owen, with Richard Lett at the piano.

On Wednesday, Nov. 8, More brings back Berlin Waltz, her Cold War cabaret - the show that kickstarted the whole Way Off-Broadway Wednesdays series a year ago. Expect slam poetry, a superb slideshow, new songs and new sock puppets.

On Wednesday, Nov. 15, audiences are treated to Once Upon a W.O.W., a night of storytelling at its finest – featuring true short stories that provide an unexpected glimpse into turning points and insights. The night features Al Lafrance, Melissa Oei, Emily Kelsall, Mike Funergy, Nic Enright-Morin, Vania Tse, Ernesto Ponce, Margo Prentice and Devon More.

On Wednesday, Nov. 22, it’s a joint presentation featuring a sneak peek at two brand-new works. Sister, by Royal City resident Catherine Owen, is a multimedia exploration of the true story of a nun who left the sisterhood to become a mother. Crisis Coaching by Maia, presented by Maia Gibb, presents “unhelpful life lessons for a successful midlife crisis, from the storyteller and blogger with the resting bitch face.”

On Wednesday, Nov. 29, audiences can enjoy Blue River Blues, by Jim Sands, with original songs and stories from the East Vancouver-based storyteller, actor, songwriter, musician and Fringe fan favourite – in the story of a snowmobile tour guide spending a summer on the Athabasca Glacier, as it melts beneath his feet.

You can show up at any performance on a drop-in basis, or reserve a table at 604-759-0819.
