Vivaldi's Four Seasons and a Tiny Tots holiday concert are coming Dec. 16 and 17

Music lovers, get your tickets now: The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is coming to town.

The VSO is bringing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to the Massey Theatre stage on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. The concert features violinist/leader Philippe Quint, along with flute soloist Christie Reside.

Quint – described as “one of the most lyrical, elegant and poetic violinists in the world today” – will perform Vivaldi’s timeless classic on the 1708 “Ruby” Stradivarius violin.

The program also includes Telemann’s Concerto for Flue and Violin in E minor, Hasse’s Sinfonia in G Minor and the Geminiani/Corelli Concerto grosso No. 12 in D minor.

For the small music lovers in the house, the VSO’s Tiny Tots concert series is also returning for a Holiday Hooray! on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Anvil Centre Theatre.

The concert features children’s entertainers Let Your Music Shine! With Lisa and Linda, along with a brass trio, offering up holiday favourites such as The Nutcracker, Babes in Toyland and more. The concert series is aimed at toddlers and preschoolers, and kids are welcome to sing and move along.

It runs twice on Saturday morning: at 10 a.m. and at 11:30 a.m.

See www.vancouversymphony.ca for details of both concerts, or see www.ticketsnw.ca to purchase tickets.
