If you haven't yet checked out the Uptown Unplugged busking series, you have one more chance this weekend.

Performances are on the outdoor stage at Westminster Centre plaza from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 24 and 25.

This Saturday features High Society with their brand of "neo-soul" music.

"Essentially, imagine if you had Fats Waller on keys, Buddy Rich on drums, Ella Fitzgerald singing, and the GooGrux King playing baritone sax in a band, that band would be high society," a press release says. The band has been touring Western Canada and featured as a main act at many major music festivals, including the Robson Valley Music Festival and Arts Wells.

Sharing the stage on Saturday will be Chelsea D.E. Johnson, the Rusty Tones Jazz Trio, Clair Lundin and Baby Face Brass.

Sunday's series features Joseph Blood, who has been described as the "second coming of Gram Parsons."

Blood's career as a guitarist has seen him play with groups like Bend Sinister, Crystal Pistol, Jakalope and Nim Vind.

Also up on Sunday will be Colin Easthope, Pam Goessaert and Les Finnigan.

Uptown Unplugged is presented by Westminster Centre and Hyack Festival Association. See www.uptownunplugged.ca.
