Lovers of Ukrainian dance don’t need to travel far to enjoy a cultural extravaganza.

Kvitka Ukrainian School of Dance is bringing its spring concert to the stage at the Laura C. Muir Performing Arts Theatre at Douglas College. The show is onstage Sunday, May 27 at 6 p.m.

The school’s year-end concert features more than 70 dancers, from age three up to adults, offering a look at all the work they have been doing this year.

“Our vision is to offer a medium for dancers to experience a part of their Ukrainian heritage that otherwise might be lost,” says a write-up on the school’s website. “We feel this is a fun way for them to stay connected to a piece of their culture and we hope to sustain and to maintain our Ukrainian culture in our community.”

Everyone is invited to check out the concert.

Douglas College is at 700 Royal Ave., New West. The theatre is on the fourth floor north.

Tickets can be purchased at the door, $10 per person (free for five and under). See www.kvitkadancers.com for more information about the group.
