This week’s Community Nights Showcase is shining a spotlight on some of the local artists and art groups who have been using space at Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces.

Community members are invited to attend the free Community Nights Showcase that’s taking place on Tuesday, June 4 at 7 p.m. in the Plaskett Gallery/Massey Theatre lobby.

“For the past eight weeks, local artists and arts groups have been coming to Community Nights and accessing the Eighth & Eight studio spaces for free,” said a June 2 news release.” Tomorrow, some of these Community Nights participants will present their latest creative endeavours, and you are invited.”

The night’s entertainment lineup includes singing, dancing, clowning and much more: Desiree Carlson – Flamenco dancer; Palak Dhiman – Kathak dancer; Plach Vocal Ensemble; Luc Benoit – stories and songs; Lois Warwick – clowning; Foolish Productions – improv group; Sudnya Mulye and Aditi Chaudhury – Bharatanatyam; Roots Peruvian Dancers; and Wonderland Arts.

Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces previously invited artists, creators, activators and other community members to use its spaces in the Massey Theatre complex. While they were able to use the space for free, they were asked to participate in a free event at the facility.

Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces made a variety of spaces available to groups in need of space, where they could create, inspire and connect. It's located in the Massey Theatre complex at 735 Eighth Ave.
