The Royal City Literary Arts Society has announced the winners of its 2020 Write On! contest.

Susan McCaslin took top spot in the poetry category with Persephone’s Nook, followed by Angela Rebrec with And their works shall follow and Angela Kenyon’s Traffic. Honourable mentions went to Barbara Carter, H.C. Phillips and Alan Girling.

In non-fiction, Karin Hedetniemi led the way with The Tail of a Comet, followed by Pete Crutchfield with Heartbreak Journal and Jennifer M. Smith with The Jackknife. Honourable mentions went to Leesa Hanna, Janaya Fuller Evans and Alexander Hamilton-Brown.

V.J. Hamilton led the way in the fiction categories, taking the first two spots with Out of Wawa and The Red Ukulele. Trish Gauntlett captured third for The Cross Bones Gate. Honourable mentions went to Lynley Lewis, Alvin Ens and Doris Riedweg.

The top three winners in each category earned cash prizes of $150, $100 and $75.
