WHAT’S UP?

Artist Focus Day Camp, a program for kids at Anvil Centre, offered during the second week of spring break.

WHO’S IT FOR?

There are two sessions: one for seven- to 11-year-olds, and one for four- to six-year-olds. It’s open to all interested kids who’d like to spend their spring break learning more about art and getting their hands on a variety of different styles and mediums of art.

WHAT DOES THE CAMP INVOLVE?

Artist Melissa Thorpe leads the four-day camp, which will review the life and work of a different famous artist each day, from Frida Kahlo to Andy Warhol. The program encourages a love of learning through creativity and fun. Kids will be exposed to art history – at a level appropriate for their age – while working in a variety of mediums inspired by the works of famous artists.

DETAILS, PLEASE:

The camp is on at Anvil Centre, Studio 413, March 26 to 29. The session for seven- to 11-year-olds runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and for four- to six-year-olds runs from 1 to 3:30 p.m. It costs $75 for the four classes.
