Royal City Musical Theatre is offering its second annual Musical Theatre Summer Academy, aimed at youth aged 12 to 18. The academy will be taught by a team of professionals led by RMT’s artistic director, Valerie Easton.

The academy runs July 3 to 8, from 1 to 6 p.m. daily. The daily schedule includes one hour of dance and movement, one hour of acting and drama, and one hour of vocal training, plus time spent preparing for an end-of-the-week showcase that will happen on July 8.

“This is a great opportunity for the youth to take part in a fun-filled week of singing and dancing, with a showcase on the last day on the Massey stage,” said an email from RCMT. “Classes will focus on the skills development of each individual artist.”

Students will also get insight into audition techniques.

The academy costs $325, plus tax. To sign up or for information, see www.royalcitymusicaltheatre.com.
