Novitiate is on screen in the Arts Council of New Westminster’s film series at Massey Theatre on Monday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Maggie Betts’ film tells the story of Cathleen, a young girl raised by a non-religious single mother in rural Tennessee who finds herself drawn to the religious life after winning a scholarship to Catholic school.. It’s set against the backdrop of Vatican II, spanning the time from the early 1950s to the mid-1960s.
