New West Artists show a success

If you don't know how much artistic talent there is in New West, then you clearly weren't at River Market this past weekend.

If you don't know how much artistic talent there is in New West, then you clearly weren't at River Market this past weekend.

The New West Artists group held a successful show from May 2 to 4 in the community square on the second floor of River Market.

The Art Squared exhibition - the third annual such show by the group - featured work by member artists in a wide variety of styles and media, all one foot squared.

A companion exhibition, Music Framed, featured works billed as "music made visual."

An opening reception Friday night attracted 300 people, according to New West Artists president Richard Armstrong, and visitors continued to enjoy the exhibitions throughout the weekend.

Photographer Jason Lang stopped by to check it out Sunday afternoon.
