Three New Westminster residents are part of the fun as a quirky romantic comedy takes to the stage in Coquitlam.

Actors Sue Sparlin and Rob Stover and director Jacqollyne Keath are all involved in the Stage 43 production of Seduced by Moonlight, running April 24 to May 3 at the Evergreen Cultural Centre.

The Tri-Cities community theatre group is staging the work by Canadian playwrights Claire Harrison and Clive Doucet. It tells the story of Peggy and Richard Cresswell, a middle-aged couple who spent their entire marriage penning dime-store romance novels and who now find themselves at a crossroads.

"What else can they do but sequester themselves away in a rustic cabin in the wood owned by ardent fan Frieda Biddles and try to rekindle their pens and their passion?" a press release notes. "Sparks fly and ink is spilled, and just as it appears that their paths are leading them in different directions, their own stock Hero and Heroine, renamed in novel after novel, now present themselves, secretly unplotting the plot. Who is real? Who is writing who?"

Sparlin appears as Frieda Biddles, while Stover is onstage as the Hero.

You can check out the fun onstage starting April 24.

It runs April 24 to 26 and April 30 to May 3, with 8 p.m. evening performances, and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on April 27.
