New Media Gallery hosts award-winning Australian artist

Intrigued by the New Media Gallery at Anvil Centre?

Drop in this weekend for an artist's talk.

Denis Beaubois, an award-winning multi-disciplinary artist from Australia, will be at the gallery on Sunday, Oct. 5 from 2 to 3 p.m. for a presentation.

Beaubois has exhibited and performed internationally at such locations as the Tate Modern, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney. He is known for performance and video in which he interacts with surveillance mechanisms.

His programmed video work Constant, 2006 will be featured in the upcoming New Media Gallery exhibition Biometric, opening in early December.

While you're at the media gallery, you can check out the ongoing Musicircus exhibition, with installations by Christian Marclay, Tim Lee, Jean-Pierre Gauthier and work by emerging artists Signal-to-Noise.
