Symphony of Multi-visual Elements, a solo exhibition by artist Yue Baoyu, is running from March 1 to 26 in the Arts Council of New Westminster’s gallery. An opening reception is set for Sunday, March 5 from 2 to 4 p.m., where Baoyu will be on hand.

A press release notes that Baoyu combines modern and post-modern concepts in his paintings to create images inspired by both Eastern and Western art.

“His portraits are a unique blend of the realist with the surrealist, merging contemporary elements with traditional craftsmanship, making for some visually engaging and mysterious art that is open to many interpretations,” the release notes.

The gallery, which is in Centennial Lodge, is open on Wednesdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and Thursdays through Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
