Balancing motherhood with creativity and artistic practice is a challenging road to navigate – and four guest speakers will be at the New Media Gallery this weekend to talk about it.
The gallery is hosting the next discussion in its Fresh Talk series on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 2 p.m., in connection with the current CHILDREN exhibition at the gallery.
Christine D’Onofrio, Elizabeth MacKenzie, Hannah Jickling and Helen Reed will offer up an unsentimental look at the life of women who struggle with having children and being creative.
A press release notes they’ll explore “the complexities and contradictions of living a creative life with children and encouraging meaningful creativity and play in children.”
Everyone is welcome to stop in for the talk and open discussion, running from 2 to 4 p.m. The gallery is at Anvil Centre, 777 Columbia St.
CHILDREN continues at the gallery until Feb. 5. See www.newmediagallery.ca for more.
