Everyone interested in literary arts in New Westminster is invited to the next New Westminster Cultural Roundtable, Aug. 18 outside Centennial Lodge.

Word nerds of New Westminster, unite.

The next New Westminster Cultural Roundtable gathering is set for Wednesday, Aug. 18. It takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. outside Centennial Lodge, at the Queen’s Park totem pole. The meeting's focus is on the literary arts.

The New Westminster Cultural Roundtable is a recurring event designed to bring together people with an interest in and a passion for the arts, as the Arts Council of New Westminster explains.

“Our purpose is to support the arts community in New Westminster and integrate the arts even deeper into our city’s culture,” an event write-up says. “As a community of practice, we are engaged in connecting and sharing in our lived experiences. Together we can accomplish so much more.”

You don’t need to be a writer or poet to take part; the free event is open to everyone who would like to work together to bring community together through the arts.

Another cultural roundtable is set for Sept. 15, with a focus on visual arts.
