Here's a reel-ly fun way to spend an evening.

The Vancouver Circus School is presenting a special movie night featuring the Circa 51 Circus Troupe.

The movie night, which is set for Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m., will feature classic moments from the silver screen, brought to life and reimagined by the troupe.

"You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll eat some popcorn and watch as movies go from 'reel to real' right before your eyes," an announcement says.

Circa 51 is a gathering of some of Vancouver Circus School's students and upcoming artists.

The show features aerial silks, trapeze, acrobatics, dance, music, comedy and more.

Tickets for the show are $25, plus taxes, available via Eventbrite (www.eventbrite.ca).

Limited cash-only sales will be available at the door on performance nights.

Free your poetic heart at an upcoming workshop offered by the Royal City Literary Arts Society.

The group is holding its next WordPlay session on Tuesday, May 6 in the backroom at the Heritage Grill, 447 Columbia St.

It's not a critique group, but rather is designed to help get the poetry flowing - participants can take the writing prompts provided and generate some first drafts.

WordPlay is a free monthly drop-in series presented on the first Wednesday of each month.

Just bring your writing tools and paper, and drop in for the session at 7 p.m.
