Have a short story you've been meaning to write and share? We want to read them!

Calling all writers from the Tri-Cities, Burnaby and New Westminster.

We’ve got a new feature for our digital platforms called Sunday Night Read.

The series will highlight short stories — fiction or non-fiction — from readers in our three jurisdictions.

Up to 2,500 words, you can tell us an original, unpublished story about a recent trip, a family visit or an event gone wrong, for example.

Creative submissions from emerging and professional authors are welcome.

There is no cost to enter.

No prizes will be handed out; however, the writer’s website and social media handles will be published upon request to promote their craft.

Please forward short stories for consideration to [email protected].

Accepted works will be published online Sundays at 4:45 p.m. on the Tri-City News, Burnaby NOW and New Westminster Record.

Be sure to include:

  • your name
  • your city
  • the story title
  • a photo to complement the story
  • your public contact and social media information (optional)

We reserve the right to copy edit all entries based on the Canadian Press Stylebook.
