Work by Sheri Lynn Seitz is part of the new Winter Solstice: A Celebration Through Art exhibition at the Gallery at Queen's Park, Nov. 30 to Dec. 21.

The magic and mystery of the winter solstice is on display in a new exhibition at the Gallery at Queen's Park.

The Arts Council of New Westminster presents Winter Solstice: A Celebration Through Art, running at the gallery from Nov. 30 to Dec. 21.

"The short days and long nights of winter are imbued with moody ambience and spiritual significance. It is a time for contemplation, but also for celebration," says a press release from the gallery. "View this magical exhibition where local artists share their vision of this winter celebration and what it means to them."

The exhibition features works by more than 30 local artists in a variety of two- and three-dimensional mediums, including painting, photography, ceramics and glass.

The gallery is in Centennial Lodge (near the bandshell). Admission is free, though donations to the ongoing operations of the gallery are encouraged.

The gallery follows current provincial health orders, so patrons are asked to note that masks are optional, but physical distancing is still encouraged. You're asked to stay home if you're feeling unwell.
