Benson will read from A Century in a Small Town 2: More Family Stories, her second book about the ordinary people and everyday events of her family in New Westminster – where they’ve been for five generations. Benson, a retired high school teacher, related stories she had collected over half a century to her students, who urged her to write them down.

“The author lived many of the events herself, and her folksy way of telling her stories immediately engages the reader of any generation,” says a press release. “Young people will learn something new, and older generations will enjoy a flood of memories.”

The reading session is at the Anvil Centre, 777 Columbia St., in Room 417. Admission is always free.
