Poetry lovers, here’s an event you’ll want to check out this weekend.
Angel Edwards is launching her new book of poetry, Spirits Dressed Up as Poems, on Saturday, Nov. 2 in an event at the Anvil Centre. It’s happening in Room 417 between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
Edwards will present from her new book, which is described as “a book for a hazy, rainy afternoon indoors or a warm summer evening on the beach.”
“An ethereal, esoteric and otherworldly essence blended with a concrete earthly mood transfixes these poems somewhere in between the here and there; the then and now; and the real and surreal,” says a press release.
S.R. Duncan and Janet Kvammen will also do readings, while musician Enrico Renz will perform. It’s hosted by Candice James, the city’s poet laureate emerita.
The Anvil Centre is at 777 Columbia St. Check out www.rclas.com for details.
