Film buffs, rejoice: Last Mondays at the Movies is back for the new year.
The Arts Council of New Westminster’s film series returns to Massey Theatre on Monday, Jan. 27 with All Is True.
Kenneth Branagh’s film tells the story of the final days of Shakespeare’s life. It’s set in 1613, when the Globe Theatre burns to the ground and a devastated Shakespeare returns to Stratford to face his past and his family. It starts Branagh as Shakespeare, with Judi Dench as his wife, Anne Hathaway, and Ian McKellen as the Earl of Southampton.
If that cast alone isn’t enough to make you want to get a ticket, then consider this: it’s just $9 general admission, or $8 if you’re a student or a senior. You can buy at the door (cash only) or book online at www.ticketsnw.ca.
The Massey Theatre is at 735 Eighth Ave. Doors for the movie screening open at 6:30 p.m., and the movie starts at 7 p.m. See www.acnw.ca/movies for all the details.
