Are you a Massey Theatre kid?

Answer yes to that question if any of the following apply:

You've attended a performance at the Massey Theatre. You've performed at the Massey Theatre. You had your graduation ceremony at the Massey Theatre. You got engaged at the Massey Theatre. You are interested in the history of the Massey Theatre. You are interested in the future of the Massey Theatre.

You get the idea.

The theatre notes that the list of "Massey Theatre kids" includes such luminaries as Jim Carrey, Charlotte Diamond, Michelle Wright, Paul Brandt, Dal Richards and Robert Munsch.

Now the Massey Theatre team is looking for all people with an interest in the Massey Theatre to take part in a special year of celebrations marking its 65th anniversary this year.

Everyone is invited to join in at www.facebook.com/masseytheatrekid.

Local residents will be able to take part in a series of special events throughout the year.

Among them:

Action: Take 65! - This is a filmmaking competition for works inspired by or documenting the Massey Theatre. Instructors will be available to support technical and creative/editorial skills. Films will be juried by a panel and included in the city archives, and a screening of top films will be set. Deadline for submissions is March 31.

Homecoming: These Glorious Years - Community members are invited to provide their favourite memories for possible inclusion in this gala performance that will be a retrospective of favourite moments on the Massey stage, recreated by cherished performers. It's set for June 14.

Great Pairings: Eyes on the Future - Senior and emerging performing artists will be paired to contribute collaborations to a gala performance, coming up Oct. 4.
