This award goes to longtime Royal City resident Lori Pappajohn, who has added mermaiding to her list of many talents.
Pappajohn contacted renowned funnyman Rick Mercer to see if he was interested in becoming a merman, which of course he was, and before long he was in her New West living room being fitted with a mermaid tail. Pappajohn and other merfolk appeared on the 2016 season premiere of the Rick Mercer Report, teaching him how to swim like a mermaid.
Let’s just say, he made quite a splash and had a fin-tastic time.
