Farmers' market fans, never fear - you don't have to wait for the weather to get warmer to enjoy the delights of local food.

The Royal City Farmers Market is continuing with its winter markets, two Saturdays a month at River Market.

The markets are held on first and third Saturdays of the month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Winter vendors offer up a variety of produce that includes beets, carrots, squash, potatoes, onions, apples and more, and market goers can also find cheese, meat, fish, baking and a variety of baked and prepared treats - not to mention wine from Pacific Breeze and craft beer from Steel & Oak.

Crafts, jewelry and health and beauty products are also on offer, and there are activities for the kids on site.
