1. Bop on over to Anvil Centre for Vintage Swing, featuring a swing band and a vocal trio in vintage style. The Royal City Swing dance club will kick off the night with a demonstration and lessons, which will be followed by a concert and dancing. Whether you want to dance or watch others hit the dancefloor, this is sure to be a fun night out. It’s on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. at Anvil Centre. 2. Head to Queensborough for Volume 21 of PechaKucha New West, which is on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Queensborough Community Centre, 920 Ewen Ave. You can mingle and buy drinks starting at 7 p.m., before 10 Pecha Kucha presenters speak (and show 20 images for 20 seconds each) starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 and available at www.eventbrite.ca (search for PechaKucha Night – Volume 21).

3. Attend the grand opening dinner and concert of the Amicus Club Performing Arts, featuring the newly renovated QayQayt stage at The Columbia Theatre, 530 Columbia St. The grand opening includes a dinner buffet, drinks and live music. 4. Listen to diverse, engaging and true “it-happened-to you” stories at The Flame New Westminster, a storytelling series featuring music and readings by a number of storytellers. Take in the Jazzed Up Broadway concert by jazz and musical theatre singer Steve Maddock (he was Daddy Warbucks in Royal City Musical Theatre’s 2014 production of Annie) on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Queen’s Avenue United Church, 529 Queens Ave. Tickets are $20 regular, $15 for seniors and students, and $10 for children and available at www.queensavenue.org.
