12th New Westminster Scouts bottle drive, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Canada Games Pool parking lot. Start the new year by clearing out your holiday bottles and cans. Donations of returnables will help scouts continue to bring adventure, outdoor experience and friendship to New Westminster youth.
New Westminster Firefighters’ Charitable Society tree chipping, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Canada Games Pool parking lot, 65 East Sixth Ave. By donation. Join us for a barbecue, popcorn, face painting, music and fire extinguisher demos. Trees will be chopped and recycled. All proceeds go to the New Westminster Firefighters’ Charitable Society.

New West Community Choir, everyone welcome. Come out and try out singing in a fun choir. First session is today from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., St. Barnabas Church Hall, 1010 Fifth Ave. Sessions run for 10 weeks on Tuesdays until March 21 and a concert date is to be determined.
