Two city councillors are hoping to connect with community members over a cup of coffee.

Daniel Fontaine and Paual Minhas, the two New West Progressives councillors on council, are launching Councillor Cafes sessions, where they’ll chat with community members over a cup of coffee.

Sessions are planned for:

* Tuesday, Jan. 10 at Century House (in the cafeteria), 620 Eighth St., 10 a.m. to noon

* Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Waves Coffee’s board room, 715 Columbia St., 6 to 8 p.m.

* Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Greens and Beans Deli, 143 East Columbia St. in Sapperton, 10 a.m. to noon. (Note: New date and location from what was originally posted.)

* Saturday, Feb. 25 at Take the Cake at 1110 Ewen Ave. in Queensborough, 9 to 11 a.m.

Residents return to in-person meetings

The Glenbrooke North Residents’ Association is kicking off 2023 with its first in-person meeting since January 2020.

The association’s annual general meeting will be held at Century House on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. The agenda includes the election of a new executive for the association, which represents residents living in the neighbourhood bounded by 10th and Sixth avenues and Sixth Street and McBride Boulevard.
