Take an armchair tour to Turkey at the New Westminster Public Library. Rick Carswell will show highlights from Istanbul and a side trip to Ephesus, 7:30 p.m. The travel shows are sponsored by the University Women's Club of New Westminster and held in the library's auditorium at 716 Sixth Ave.

Credit history and credit bureau, find out what credit history is, how to determine yours, how to build credit and what affects your credit score. Bankruptcy and credit counseling will also be covered. Session on financial literacy, 7 p.m., presented by volunteers with Vancity's Each One, Teach One program. Artisans Fair at River Market, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., River Market, 810 Quayside Dr. Artisans from New Westminster and beyond will be showcasing their wares including jewelry, quilting, books, beadwork, knitwear, painting, stone carving and more.

Writing workshop at the library, 7 p.m. Accessing memory to enhance your writing is the subject of the workshop, Page as Bone Blood as Ink. Jonina Kirton is a Métis/Icelandic poet/author who brings her experience as a graduate of the Simon Fraser University's writer's studio an as a sacred circle facilitator to her writing and teachings. Century House Association annual thrift sale, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., 620 Eighth St. Bargains galore. Free admission. Recycled treasures include clothing and linens, small appliances, jewelry, kitchenware, knick-knacks, books, DVDs and CDs, plants and toys. Refreshments available.

Bring in your laptop, eReader, tablet or smartphone and learn how to download the required software and find and download ebooks. New Westminster Tinnitus Support Group, meets on the third Tuesday of the month, 7 p.m., Century House, 620 Eighth St., ABC Room. Tinnitus is a ringing, humming, buzzing or other sound in our head or ears that doesn't have an outside source. The group discusses the latest treatment information and coping and stress reduction techniques, and offers encouraged and camaraderie to help combat this debilitating condition.
