It’s a tradition that has endured for more than 100 years – the annual Remembrance Day memorial service hosted by the Royal Westminster Regiment.
“I encourage everyone to attend the Remembrance Day ceremonies to honour the men and women who have so valiantly served in times of war, military conflict and peace, many of whom have paid the ultimate sacrifice,” Honorary Col. Karen Baker-MacGrotty of the Royal Westminster Regiment, said in a press release.
The ceremony is held on Friday, Nov. 11 at the Armoury at Queens Avenue and Sixth Street (behind city hall). Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and the service gets underway at 9:45 a.m. Seating is limited and provided on a first-come basis.
There will be a parade from the Armoury to the cenotaph in front of city hall following the service.
