Summer Reading for Adults is coming back to the New Westminster Public Library.

It starts July 3, and we'll celebrate reading all summer long.

Read Around the World with us this summer.

Start by picking up your Reading Passport at the library. You'll be able to keep track of the books you've read and the ones you want to read.

We'll visit a different part of the world each week. We'll start at home with Read Canada.

For the first week our reading recommendations will be books by Canadians and books that take place in Canada.

The staff at the library has been busy making lists of their favourite books. These will be gathered into bookmarks for each region. You'll find fiction, mystery and nonfiction bookmarks.

If you collect them all, you'll have 27 different bookmarks from nine different regions, each with lists of our favourite reads.

Each week we'll visit a different part of the world.

After Canada, we'll travel to Asia for a week, with Asian settings and Asian authors highlighted.

Then we're off to South America for a week.

July 23 will find us in Europe, and, a week later, in Africa.

The Polar Regions follow, and on Aug. 13 we'll return to North America.

One week in Australia will be followed by the last week in Your Favourite Place in the World.

It'll all be over Sept. 3. It's going to be a whirlwind tour of the world.

And there will be prizes each week. Just fill in the entry form found at the bottom of the pages of your Reading Passport for each week and for each different region.

We'll pull one name from the entries each week, and that lucky person will win a prize.

Check out our webpage at www.nwpl. ca and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

We'll tell you where we're going each week and suggest some great reads to take along, as well as announcing the winners of our weekly prizes.

New Westminster Public Library is at 716 Sixth Ave., uptown. Check out its website at www.nwpl.ca to keep an eye on what's happening.
