Community members are invited to learn about the challenges immigrant women are facing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gulalai Habib, who has worked with immigrants and refugees for more than 25 years, will be the guest speaker at the New Westminster Council of Women’s upcoming annual general meeting. Habib is currently the director of settlement and integration programs at Burnaby Neighbourhood House and serves on the board of the national Women’s Economic Council.
Habib will speak about Immigrant Women and the Challenge of COVID-19 at the meeting, which is taking place on Wednesday, April 28 at 7 p.m. on Zoom. It’s free and everyone is welcome to attend.
The New Westminster Council of Women aims to empower all women to work together to improve the quality of life for women, families and society.
