Community members are invited to help enhance Glenbrook Ravine this weekend.

Organizers of an upcoming environmental event are hoping for better weather than their last outing.

The next gathering as part of the Glenbrook Ravine enhancement project is set for Saturday, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  People of all ages are invited to attend.

“Our first day in April was pretty wet and soggy, but I’m optimistic the weather in late May will be more cooperative,” said organizer Kyle Routledge in an email to the record. “As always, this is a family-friendly event, and we have ways for people of all ages and abilities to get involved and contribute. The work is not that hard, and refreshments, socialization breaks are welcome and encouraged.”

Organizers will provide lights snacks and beverages for volunteers. People are invited to stay for as long or as little as they like.

Because of a community garage sale taking place on May 26, people won’t be able to access the Glenbrook Park Amenities Centre’s parking lot. For folks who are driving, parking is available along Glenbrook Drive (at the head of the tail through the ravine), Canada Games Pool (a relatively short walk to the area where work is being done) and Jamieson Court (but this area could be busy because of the garage sale.)
