New West kids still have time for some summer fun

Fun Day hosted by Nur Elmasri
Come out and play: Nur Elmasri wanted to make sure local kids didn’t miss out on fun because they don’t have the cash to spend on expensive outings. More than 500 people attended the Fun Day he hosted at Moody Park last year and this year's event is Aug. 27.

Summer may be drawing to a close but a local boy wants to keep the fun going for local kids.
Nur Elmasri is hosting his second annual Fun Day at Moody Park on Wednesday, Aug. 27 from noon to 3 p.m. He launched the event last year, after receiving a grant from the Vancouver Foundation.
Local families are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and drop by Moody Park playground/spray park from noon to 3 p.m. to enjoy music, henna, hair braiding, a stilt walker, a visit from the Tumble Bus, healthy snacks and other fun offerings. Fun Day is sponsored by Family Services of Greater Vancouver and supported by a variety of local organizations.
Moody Park is located at Eighth Street and Sixth Avenue.
