Royal Columbian Hospital is getting the benefit from a new business venture in the neighbourhood.

Thrifty Foods, scheduled to open next week on Oct. 19, has set up a social media campaign on Facebook where each "like" of their page will garner a $1 donation from Thrifty Foods to the RCH Foundation, up to a maximum of $2,500.

The new store is part of the "Brewery District" development in Sapperton, located at East Columbia Street and Brunette Avenue.

This site is also scheduled to be the new home for TransLink's head offices, opening in 2013. Other components in the project include doctors' offices.
