Kids fair coming to New Westminster

Organizers hope to make January kids fair an annual event in the Royal City

Mark the calendars: the date's been set for an upcoming children's fair in New Westminster.

The first annual Royal City Kids Fair is slated to run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Sapperton Hall.

The event will feature a mix of attractions for both kids and parents.

"We are so excited to be bringing a fun and informative day for parents and kids alike to New Westminster," said Michael van Lierop, founder of the fair. "Kids will be having a great time dancing to Bobs & Lolo, bouncing around three different inflatable games and eating hot popcorn, while parents can have time alone to browse with peace of mind!"

Well known local children's peformers, Bobs and Lolo, will be on site for two performances.

The fair will use both floors of Sapperton Hall, which located near Royal Columbian Hospital, for a total of 10,000 square feet for exhibits for parents and play areas for children.

The event is free to attend and the New Westminster Lion's Club will be fundraising during the day by providing treats, food and snacks to visitors.

There is still room for businesses and organizations who are interested in exhibiting at the fair - space is limited and organizers suggest registering soon.

The event is sponsored by the Royal City Record, Urban Baby and Toddler, Party Works, Inkling Printing Solutions and Webserve Canada.
