Handbell choir invites more New West kids to join

Are there any New Westminster children out there who’d like to learn music and ring handbells? Queens Avenue United Church has set up a junior handbell choir, and it’s welcoming more members to join. The group meets Mondays at 3:45 p.m.

Handbells rest on a table during an International Handbell Symposium in Vancouver in 2016. New West children are being given a chance to learn the instrument for free in a new handbell choir at Queens Avenue United Church.

Are there any New Westminster children out there who’d like to learn music and ring handbells?

Queens Avenue United Church has set up a junior handbell choir, and it’s welcoming more members to join. The group meets Mondays at 3:45 p.m. at the church (529 Queens Ave.).

No previous musical experience is necessary, and there’s no fee involved in joining – which means your child will get to learn music for free.
