Five Stones Church is highlighting the issue of sex trafficking in Canada as part of its documentary film series.

Tara Teng, Miss Canada 2011, will be attending the 5S Docs Night that's taking place on Sunday, July 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Heritage Grill at 447 Columbia St. Teng, who is trying to raise awareness about the issue of sex trafficking, will be attending the screening of Enslaved and Exploited: The story of Sex Trafficking in Canada.

"Canada is a source, transit and destination country for men, women and children trafficked for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation," said the event's Facebook page. "According to the RCMP, 15,000 people are trafficked in and through Canada every year."

Five Stones Church first began offering services at Douglas College six years ago, after pastor Rich Kao moved here with his family from Minnesota. In April, the church moved to space at 612 Columbia St., where it also runs an art gallery.
