Let's Talk About Death (Baby!), a free interactive workshop, is being held on Sunday, Sept. 29.

An upcoming event aims to alleviate some of the discomfort that surrounds discussions about death.

Holly Mitton, a grief support consultant, is hosting Let’s Talk About Death (Baby!), a free event where folks will get a chance to ask questions, learn about options and connect with other community members. Let’s Talk About Death (Baby!) will be a relaxed, informative and interactive event.

“You do not have to wait until you have a diagnosis or be actively dying to prepare for your future,” said a write-up about the event. “Details around death can be approached with ease before we die. Exploring and reviewing what is most important to you provides the opportunity to make changes you need to feel complete.”

Mitton received a grant from the Vancouver Foundation to host the event, which is taking place on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 219 Sixth St. The Columbia Street Sandwich Company is providing refreshments.

“The best time to make an advanced care plan is when your health is still good,” said a write-up about the event. “It gives you time to consider and reflect on the kind of health and medical care you would consent to, or refuse, in a crisis.”

More details about the event are available at Facebook (Let’s Talk About Death (Baby!). To register for this free event orto get more info, go to www.eventbrite.ca and search for Let’s Talk About Death (Baby!).
