Fraser River Discovery Centre's (FRDC) education programs received $10,000 from the Telus Vancouver Community Board recently.

The centre's popular River School connects individuals with the living, working Fraser River by offering interactive and thought-provoking activities to school groups from Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

Catherine Ouellet-Martin, executive director of the centre, commended Telus for its support of initiatives that focus on education.

"Education is a key activity for promoting understanding of the value of a healthy, productive Fraser River. Our River School provides students with an opportunity to develop a respect for the river's role in shaping British Columbia's ecological, social and economic diversity," she said. [email protected]
