The New West Farmers winter market is just one of many markets coming up in New West this holiday season.

For many folks, tis the season for shopping. If crafts, artisan goods, vintage treasures or other gift-giving items are on your to-buy list, you’ll want to make note of these upcoming sales.

Royal City Gogos Artisan Craft Sale

The Royal City Gogos’ annual artisan craft sale is one of the group’s fundraisers in support of community-based services in 15 African countries. At this year’s sale, shoppers will find one-of-a-kind seasonal gifts, including: soft furnishings and housewares for holiday gift giving; unique handmade accessories; quality pre-loved jewelry; gift items for pets and children; Christmas decorations; food, including homemade loaves and cookies and 25 varieties of jam; and much more.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 17 (4 to 8 p.m.) and Saturday, Nov. 18 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Where: Unifor Hall, 326 12th St.
  • Details: The Royal City Gogos support the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign, which is dedicated to combating the HIV/AIDs pandemic in Africa by assisting African grandmothers who are raising a generation of children orphaned by the pandemic.

Winter Market

Shoppers can enjoy holiday music while shopping for seasonal homemade and retail gifts at the Winter Market.

  • Where: Queensborough Community Centre, 920 Ewen Ave.
  • Details: Free with a non-perishable food donation

New West Craft

A curated market showcasing the works of local artisans and makers, New West Craft has several events coming up in the weeks ahead.

  • When, Saturdays – Nov. 18 and Dec. 9 and 16, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
  • Where: River Market, 810 Quayside Dr.

Winter Craft and Bake Sale

The Century House Association is holding a winter craft and bake sale featuring quilts, crafts, pottery and other items handmade by Century House members and activity groups.

  • When: Saturday, Nov. 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Where: Century House, 620 Eighth St.
  • Details: Free admission

Herbert Spencer Christmas Craft Fair

The annual Herbert Spencer Christmas craft fair will showcase works by more than 60 artisans and vendors. It also includes a bake sale, a bistro serving up food, drinks and sweets, and Candy Cane Lane – where Herbert Spencer students hand craft and sell their own items.

  • When: Saturday, Nov. 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Where: École Herbert Spencer Elementary School, 605 Second St.

Vintage Christmas Market

The first Vintage Christmas Market features 24 vendors from New West and the Lower Mainland who will be selling a variety of vintage Christmas decorations and winter décor, along with vintage and upcycled gifts for sustainable-minded shoppers.

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Where: Centennial Lodge in Queen’s Park
  • Details: Admission is $2, or free with a donation of a non-perishable food item

New West Craft: Holiday Night Market

Presented by Arts New West, New West Craft Holiday Market is a curated market that showcases the work of local makers and artisans.

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 2, 3 to 9 p.m.
  • Where: River Market, 810 Quayside Dr.

New West Farmers Market Holiday Market

The New West Farmers Market’s annual holiday market will feature items by more than 80 local artisans and food vendors, including unique handcrafted gifts and yummy culinary creations. Live music, performances and children's activities will add to the festive ambience.

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 10, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Where: New Westminster City Hall, 511 Royal Ave.
