It's so whimsical!

Have you ever picked out a spectacular spot on your Airbnb wishlist?

Many do, collecting ideas for a future trip to an amazing place.

It turns out one of those spectacular spots everyone around the world is interested in is in Vancouver's backyard (if you think of the Salish Sea as Vancouver's backyard, maybe it's more of a pool).

Cob Cottage is a whimsical little cabin in the woods on Mayne Island, just southwest of Vancouver on BC Ferries's route to Swartz Bay (though the cabin is on the opposite side of the ferry route).

According to Airbnb, that whimsy carries weight as Cob Cabin is one of the top ten all-time most wish-listed listings on the massive travel accommodation app.

"We're thrilled to announce that two Canadian listings are in the top ten most wish-listed listings of all time, globally — Le MICA Chalet in Quebec City, and Cob Cottage on Mayne Island," says a spokesperson in an email.

The simple cabin with one double bed, a creative design, and a classic west coast location beat out the likes of the Yellow Submarine in New Zealand, an Irish castle, or tents in the tree tops.

"The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom," describes the cabin's listing.

And it seems to deserve all the wishlisting, given it has a 4.98 rating from past visitors.
